Opdyke "The Nambu Foundation
Summer Internship Program was truly an invaluable experience. The contacts
and the friendships that I made have also been very helpful in my job
search. |
Sarah Hassenpflug "As an intern at Aprika, a manufacturer of baby strollers, I have learned about Japanese business culture and exchanged my ideas with members of the company. I intend to build from this experience in the future by assisting American companies in entering the Japanese market." |

Tony Kujawa "Interning at Keidanren, the Japan Federation of Economic Organizations provided a unique opportunity to gain an inside look at policy making processes in Japan and to witness the potential of a business association in solving problems facing the Japanese and world economy. As part of the International Economic Affairs Bureau, I was able to listen to talks from various government officials, business community leaders and observe a series of meetings which culminated in the position paper, "Basic Position and Recommendations For the WTO Doha Ministerial Conference and A New Round of Negotiations." Most important, however, were the friendships made with co-workers, other interns and Pasona employees."
Dawn Kolk Working at Aprica Kassai, Inc. solidified my resolve to find a long-term job in Japan after graduation. The people at Aprica welcomed me with open arms. They provided me with a balance of work (valuable experience for completing my degree in translation) and exposure to various departments to ensure I had a complete understanding of how the company operated. I can think of no other program that offers such a well-rounded internship experience. |
Ryan Vineyard My internship with Mitsubishi Research Institute proved to be not only an invaluable professional experience but also an invaluable learning experience as well. I had the opportunity to perform extensive research on the Japanese economy, to travel to Seoul, Korea with my colleagues, and to meet with government officials in the Ministry of the Economy, Trade, and Industry. The skills and confidence I developed as well as the friends and contacts I made while in Tokyo will no doubt prove advantageous in pursuing a Japan-related career in the future. |
